Handmade interior objects, made with a passion for simplicity, honesty and beauty.
Nom was born in Swaziland and grew up in The Netherlands where she studied textile design at the Charles Montaigne Fashion Academy in Amsterdam. After graduating in 1999 she pursued a career as fashion designer for different brands. After twelve years Nom embarked on her own creative journey and explored different techniques before fully embracing weaving and macrame.
As her knowledge and confidence grew she got more and more comfortable leaving things out, exactly when her geometrical wallhangings started to take shape. Doing a lot with a little is one of her strengths. That doesn’t necessarily mean a ‘“less is more’” approach, but Nom loves to make things less complicated as simplicity, beauty and honesty are the essential ingredients for her work.
